Thoughts from the Volunteer Desk
I admit that when I started this venture as a volunteer staffer for ApplaudCare and Grace Center for the Arts, I was excited. It is always good to help others, but I didn't realize that I would ENJOY it so much. Lesson learned.
ApplaudCare's most recent upcoming event on November 5th presents some overtly talented folks. One of a kind artistry, performed to help others. From Doyle Dykes, the inordinately gifted musician and innovator, to the vibrant Kirk Wilke and the Rappahannock POPS Orchestra, this is an opportunity for concert attendees to see and hear an exceptional mix of humility and skill that rarely shares a stage in Fredericksburg, or anywhere else.
Once again, as I meet artists, musicians, and non-profit staffers, I acknowledge these as such wonderful, generous people. In this collaboration, the entire ApplaudCare team (including this volunteer), has discovered that there is no person too large, or too small to say YES!, and extend a helping hand in some way. We commend them all.
